Meet Dr. Turpin
My life as a dentist was originally something I had never even remotely considered. My family origin was a humble one with a strong belief that if you work hard enough at something it can be yours. I witnessed my dad take a failing construction from the brink of collapse to success by enormous sacrifice and hard work. It was from his example I learned the price of success.
My father wanted me to pursue something outside the construction business. I became the first in my family to attend college where I earned an engineering degree while still working in the family business. The experience was priceless in helping me understand that nothing worthwhile is given easily. Although my degree helped me avoid the physical toll of construction I still didn’t feel fulfilled. As fate would have it, I underestimated the amount of my father in me. The need for independence, ownership, success and failure at my own hands were undeniable. This dissatisfaction drove me to seek again. After four years of working as an engineer, I was compelled to take a chance, leave it all, and pursue dentistry. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Although going back to school was grueling I found dentistry offered what I needed. It offered me the opportunity to interact and help others.
Having an ownership mentality created another challenge. I realized I would never truly achieve my dreams until I was in a practice of my own. In my last year of dental school one of my classmates introduced me to Dr. Brown, the Founder of Custom Dental. The unique Custom Dental model allowed me to be in business for myself but not by myself. It was a perfect fit that enabled me to serve the people of Purcell and surrounding communities.
I have a beautiful daughter, Alora, that keeps me busy when I not working at the office. Life is good and the only thing that is missing is meeting you and learning your story. Come by the office and give me a chance.
